If you’re a parent of color, Christmastime may present a conundrum of sorts. You want to engage with Christmas traditions, such as Santa Claus, but you’d love nothing more than for Santa to look like your family. Esteem Gang Gang Gang. We at VSB feel the same way.

We heard a story, passed down from pirates, griots and other folks who pass down stories, that the Macy’s on 34th Street in New York City had a black Santa, but getting to him was the shenanigans. Who was up for the challenge? Panama was up for the challenge.

So we grabbed some cameras, borrowed a kid, and set out to do the Lord’s work and find the mythical figure at the world’s largest Macy’s. And we got the whole adventure on film.

Did we find him? Check out the video to find out!
